Class plan.png What are we going to learn today?[edit]

  1. Monster class today. You will SSH into a remote server in Germany and create HTML and PHP files
  2. It will be a miracle if everything works as designed
  3. When class is over you will understand ( a little):
    1. SSH
    2. Linux
    3. midnight commander
    4. editing files
    5. where to view your publically editable files.

Homework.png Homework[edit]

  1. no homework today

Target.png How am I being assessed today?[edit]

  1. If you can connect to the server, create a public-visible html file and public-visible PHP file, you will have demonstrated you understand this material

Ourstandards.png Standards we are covering today[edit]

  • Outline the architecture of the central processing unit (CPU) and the functions of the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and the control unit (CU) and the registers within the CPU.
  • Outline the use of a range of application software.
  • Identify common features of applications.
  • Click here for all our standards

Computer1.png As a computer scientist, you have:[edit]

  • Confidence in dealing with complexity
  • Persistence in working with difficult problems
  • Tolerance for ambiguity
  • The ability to deal with open-ended problems
  • The ability to communicate and work with others to achieve a common goal or solution
