Distributed networking is a distributed computing network system, said to be distributed when the computer programming and the data to be worked on are spread out across more than one computer.[2]
“A Distributed System is a collection of independent computers that appear to its users as a single coherent system”[3]
Hardware used in a distributed networks[edit]
Any device can be used in a distributed network. A mobile phone, a desktop computer, a laptop computer or maybe even a tablet device! The key point to remember is the devices are running a common set of software which allows a portion of the devices computing resources to be shared with other devices.
