To Review[edit]

  • I can explain the big ideas of resource management
  • I can use activity memory to answer basic questions about what my operating system is doing
  • I can explain the role of the operating system in terms of managing memory, peripherals and hardware interfaces.
  • I can identify the limitations of a range of resources in a specified computer system.
  • I can describe the possible problems resulting from the limitations in the resources in a computer system.

To Learn[edit]

  • I understand computer science grade descriptors
    • We will think-pair-share, focusing on what is different between grades, for example, what is the difference between a 5 and a 6.
  • I understand the reflection assignment
  • I understand what is going to be on our test on Monday

Homework.png What is our home learning?[edit]

  • Study for your test on Monday
  • Please complete the reflection sheet

Target.png How am I being assessed today?[edit]

I will assess you formatively today, and make a professional judgement to what extent you understand our learning material. I will use observation, your written work, answers to questions, and contribution to class discussions as data to make my decisions. I normally record my observations in a "evidence of learning" spreadsheet, which I will happily share with you privately if you so wish. I usually need a day or two notice.

I also may ask you to complete a self-assessment which I will use to help me gauge how well you think you understand our material in class.

Computer1.png As a computer scientist, you have:[edit]

  • Confidence in dealing with complexity
  • Persistence in working with difficult problems
  • Tolerance for ambiguity
  • The ability to deal with open-ended problems
  • The ability to communicate and work with others to achieve a common goal or solution
